What we look at

Fixed criteria, written down in advance.

Every conversation is reviewed against the same written criteria, so the feedback is consistent and you can compare one conversation with the next.

Balance

Talk time per person, length of turns, who starts and who ends topics, silences and overlaps.

Questions

Open and closed questions, leading questions, several questions at once, and what each question led to.

Advice-giving

When the conversation moves from exploring to telling, who makes that move, and what happens next.

Listening

Summarizing, reflecting back, checking understanding, and building on what the other person said.

Language

How often people say "I", "you" and "we", and how they speak about themselves, each other and others.

Your framework

For coaches: how the session reads against the ICF core competencies and the approach you trained in.

Linked to established frameworks

The criteria are linked to the ICF core competencies, and to programs accredited by ICF such as CTI and ORSC. Other frameworks can be added where there is interest.

DialogueScan is an independent service by JP Grollé and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ICF, CTI or CRR Global.

How the report is made

Software transcribes the recording and measures the patterns above. An AI model then drafts the review against the criteria. I check every report before it is sent, and correct it where needed.

The criteria are still being refined during the pilot. Debrief calls with pilot users, and the conversations they agree can be used for this, help make them sharper.

A sample report

[SAMPLE REPORT: an anonymized example, or a few pages from one, once the first pilot reports exist.]
